Huawei Quidway AR18-2X Series Routers

Quadway AR 18-2X serien är framtagen av Huawei Technologies och inriktar sig på det mindre kontoret/hemmakontoret. I serien ingår modellerna AR 18-20/18-20S/18-21A/18-21B/18-22-24.

För närvarande finns AR 18-2X i två olika varianter i fråga om antal portar för gränssnitt:

• AR 18-20/18-20S/18-21A/18-21B som standard har fyra Lan gränssnitt.
• AR 18-22-24 med 24 lan gränssnitt, därav AR 18-22-24 har de flesta.

AR 18-2X serien är Ethernet Access Routers, och ger 10BASE-T eller 10/100BASE-TX gränssnitt uppströms och 10/100BASE-T gränssnitt nedströms. Gränssnitten erbjuder Layer 2 datautbyte och kan använda portisolering. Dessutom förbättrar det inbyggda krypteringschippet i AR 18-20 serien prestandan på kryptering avsevärt.

Overview

Quidway AR 18-2X Series Routers, developed by Huawei Technologies, are oriented to Small Office Home Office (SOHO) users. They include AR 18-20/18-20S/18-21A/18-21B/18-22-24 models.

Currently, Quidway AR 18-2X Ethernet Routers consist of two types in terms of LAN interface density:

• The AR 18-20/18-20S/18-21A/18-21B (four LAN interfaces by default)
• The AR 18-22-24 (24 switched LAN interfaces), in which AR 18-22-24 has the densest LAN interfaces

Quidway AR 18-2X Series Routers are Ethernet access routers, and provide 10BASE-T or 10/100BASE-TX interface in the uplink direction and 10/100BASE-T Ethernet interface in the downlink direction. The interfaces provide Layer2 data exchange and can implement port isolation. In addition, the built-in hardware encryption chip of the AR 18-20S greatly enhances the encryption performance.

Network Security

Quidway AR 18-2X Series provides abundant network security features, such as firewall, packet filtering, network address translation (NAT), authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA), and callback. Hence, users can select different security policies to build enterprise networks.

VPN Function

Intranet virtual private network (VPN) interconnects the geographically dispersed branches of a company via public networks, as an extension and replacement of traditional leased line networks and other enterprise networks. Access VPN provides secure tunnels for small-sized users like SOHO to access the resources of company headquarters via PSTN/ISDN. Extranet VPN extends the enterprise networks to the business partners and clients, and enables different companies to communicate securely and privately over the public networks. Quidway AR 18-2X Series Routers mainly service at the access end of VPNs.

Command Line Interface

Users can configure the command line interface (CLI) of Quidway AR 18-2X Series in common ways, and do not need special training.

Ethernet Access

Quidway AR 18-2X Series provides 10/100MBASE-T Ethernet WAN interface. By configuring point- to-point protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE), hosts in LAN can access the Internet via Ethernet, and the monitoring and accounting functions can be implemented on every access host. Therefore, Quidway AR 18-2X Series Routers are cost-effective and widely used in the construction of campus broadband networks.

Chassis

Electromagnetic shielded plastic chassis, which the AR-2x Series Routers adopt, has not only a smooth external appearance and small size, but also can effectively shield electromagnetic interference from various sources to make the system work more stably and reliably.
